EMF Balancing, or electromagnetic field therapy, is an alternative treatment based on the relationship between electromagnetic energy and the human body and the effects of positive and negative magnetic polarities upon the biological systems and emotions. Magnetic field therapy is used to diagnose and treat both physical and emotional pain, relieve symptoms, and counter the effects of stress. It has been used to treat cancer, epilepsy, and inflammatory diseases such as tendonitis and rheumatoid arthritis.
EMF therapy proponents list a series of benefits that come from EMF treatment, such as improved wellbeing, a sense of peace and relaxation derived from releasing tension, and physical health. An EMF session usually lasts around an hour. The client is on a massage table while the practitioner places his or her hands on or near the client’s body to help facilitate the flow of energy. As the client is lying on the massage table, energy flows from the practitioner’s hands to the client through several energy centers known as chakras.
The technique has eight phases, which must be done in sequence. In phase one, stress is released and a new pattern of wellbeing is established. Phase two involves the release of energy restraints and promotes awareness. In phase three, core energy is radiated to increase energy flow. Phase four, called the energetic accomplishment phase, focuses on personal potential. Phase five treats energy centers around the heart, throat, mouth, and nose. Phases six and seven focus on energy found in hands and feet respectively. And finally, phase eight focuses on energy related to the crown chakra, in the location of the brain.
