Aura therapy is an alternative medicine method which focuses on detecting and treating disease by reading the individual’s aura. According to aura therapists, the aura is an energy field which surrounds the body and reflects the subtle life forces within it. When these forces are negatively affected by the individual’s surroundings or lifestyle, the body’s health is said to deteriorate. This can occur at a physical, mental, or emotional level. To treat a particular condition, aura therapists analyze the person’s aura colors to determine the problem and bring the body’s energy field back into balance. Therapists take a holistic approach, attempting to bring imbalances in the aura back into physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual balance.
There are various forms of aura therapy, the two most popular ones being aura color therapy and therapeutic touch. In aura color therapy, therapists analyze the proportions of the colors in a person's aura, as well as their intensity. In treatment, colors are added to correct imbalances in the aura. In therapeutic touch, the practitioner transfers energy to the patient in order to unblock any energy disturbances. In either treatment, more than one session is advised. The first session focuses on treating the physical aura, the next on the emotional aura, and the third on the spiritual. Once aura levels regain balance, follow-up sessions may be scheduled every six months to a year.
