This month, we decided to write a few words on the Earth, not only the planet where we live but also the Mother who nourishes us, and our unfortunate detachment from her.
We wholeheartedly believe that in order to live in harmony with the earth we must be in contact with her. Indigenous tribes have known this from the start, which explains why many of them have rejected city life. In the cities, where the the sun and stars can hardly be seen, where we walk on asphalt rather than feel the rich ground beneath our bare feet, and where our contact with the animals is minimal, it becomes difficult to connect with the earth and tune in. And this weak bond with our Mother Earth is at the root of our rising stress levels and our lack of concern and understanding for ecological and environmental issues.
We are forgetting how listen and how to speak to the earth. It’s well-known and proven that before a tsunami strikes, all animals in the area evacuate, except humans (utterly disconnected) who stay there unawares, and suffer for it. But when we are in fact in tune with our surroundings, when we pay attention to the natural cycles and our own intuition, we are connected with the earth and thus protected and nourished by her. We love and respect her as a child does his mother. We honor and take care of her.
This month, we invite you to rediscover your bond with Mother Earth through a series of alternative therapies and experiences aimed to reconnect. We suggest the Temazcal, a Mayan ritual where you experience a feeling similar to that in the womb, helping you to cleanse yourself and be reborn. Also work with your earth chakra and the techniques you are most comfortable with. We invite you to reconnect with yourself and your environment and discover the benefits!
